Details Implementation
Sentinel LM can be incorporated into your application
through the Sentinel LM Shell or through the Sentinel
LM API. The Sentinel LM Shell is ideal when time is limited
or you do not have access to the source code. The Sentinel
LM API provides the support you need to implement more
complex license models such as capacity-based licensing.
The implementation time for Sentinel LM varies depending
on the nature of your particular implementation.
A Single Integration with Multiple License
Options
Sentinel LM offers you the ability to integrate software
protection and license management once, yet leverage the
customizability of the license generator to meet your
business needs, without a new integration effort. For
instance, you may decide to implement Sentinel LM with
your application through the LM Shell or the LM API. You
can then choose to license your application with the options
listed above, without modifying your code. As your business
needs change you can easily choose to offer additional
license types, or you may choose to offer customized packages
that a specific customer requires. End-User
Activation
Sentinel LM supports multiple methods of license activation.
Whether you're interested in easily converting trial or
demonstration software versions to fully licensed software
or interested in offering new features or functionality
remotely, Sentinel LM can support your business needs.
License activation can occur over the Internet, by phone,
fax, and mail or through the use of hardware tokens.
Administrative Tools
To support your customers in the license management process,
Sentinel LM offers administrators a convenient way to
monitor software licenses and license servers. The Administration
Utility within Sentinel LM provides network administrators
visibility about who has licenses and how they are being
used, so that they can effectively manage license deployment
throughout the company. Internationalization
Support
Internationalization, also known as I18N, is the process
of making a program language-independent. Sentinel LM
accomplishes this by removing language-specific icons
and dates, displaying numbers in a generic format and
ensuring that data can be entered in multiple languages.
License Queuing
Sentinel LM's license queuing capability allows users
on a network to automatically receive the application
license once it is available. License queuing automatically
launches the requested application when a license becomes
available. Sentinel Express
This add-on program provides full support for Internet-based
electronic license management and distribution. By using
Sentinel Express in conjunction with Sentinel LM, you
are easily able to support demonstration, registration
and purchase of licenses over the Internet. |
